The 2019 Averex HS630i is an elite-grade horizontal machining centre purpose-built for continuous-duty, high-precision applications. At its heart lies a 10,000 RPM built-in 50-taper spindle, cooled by an integrated chiller and delivering a mighty 50/60 horsepower, making it ideally suited for both ferrous and non-ferrous heavy-duty cutting. The spindle features dual-contact CAT 50 engagement, ensuring rigidity at full torque under aggressive cutting loads.
This machine’s axis travels span an impressive 41.3” in X, 35.4” in Y, and 40.1” in Z, supporting part sizes up to 39.3” diameter by 51” in height—exceptionally large for this class. Its rotary table offers 1° indexing for multi-face precision machining. The pallet system, standard with 2 pallets, is field-expandable to 6 pallets, equipping the machine for lights-out manufacturing and automated work cell integration. Pallet locking is secured with a 4-Komek ball lock mechanical clamping system to ensure repeatable fixturing under heavy tool loads.
Equipped with a 60-tool automatic tool changer (ATC), it accommodates a wide range of tooling setups for complex, multi-step operations. Rapid traverse rates reach a blazing 1,968 inches per minute, with over 1 G acceleration/deceleration rates, offering near-instantaneous axis responsiveness.
Thermal stability is embedded into its design, with casting-mounted thermocouples, core-cooled Tsubaki ball screws, and a temperature-controlled spindle cartridge and motor, all of which maintain precision over long cycles. The system is further supported by pressurised oil and air lubrication throughout the spindle, roller ways, and screws, enhancing component longevity.
The coolant system is formidable, delivering 435 PSI (30 Bar) through the spindle, and includes thru-spindle air cutting via M-code, as well as a 14-nozzle overhead pallet wash and dual chip augers for efficient chip evacuation. The inclusion of a 7-day programmable power timer allows full automation of startup and shutdown sequences, optimizing unattended operation.
